Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifayi - Honorary Professor of Kyiv University of Tourism, Economics and Law!

November 30, 2012 in the framework of the official visit to Ukraine UN WTO Secretary General, Mr. Taleb Rifai visited Kyiv University of Tourism, Economics and Law on the occasion of awarding him the academic title "Honorary Professor of KUTEL".

This extraordinary event caused great interest. Gathered in the auditorium of over 500 people - members of the Academic Council, faculty and students of the University, Kiev College of Hotel Management, Economics and Law School, representatives of the Association of educational institutions of Ukraine tourist and hotel Academy of Tourism of Ukraine.

Grand Meeting was opened by the Rector of KUTEL Professor Vladimir Fedorchenko. He described Mr. Taleb Rifai as outstanding figure of world tourism, initiated a number of innovative and constructive initiatives, including special place is occupied by the formation of networks to disseminate knowledge and provide UN WTO from this authoritative organization appropriate services at the global, regional and national levels as an ardent supporter development of dynamic cooperation UN WTO with Ukraine.

After the announcement of the decision of the Council to the Secretary General KUTEL UN WTO was given certificate and the mantle of Honorary Professor of KUTEL. All those present in the audience warmly welcomed Mr. Taleb Rifai of awarding him an honorary academic titles.

In response to the greeting UN WTO Secretary General Mr. Taleb Rifai expressed his gratitude for the high award and a very warm welcome, said that he considered this event as an act of recognition of the global tourism and the role it plays in solving the major problems of today, since the economic crisis and ending poverty and climate change, as well as a contribution to the work of the World Tourism Organization to promote the idea of sustainable tourism development.

Lecturing on the occasion of awarding Secretary UN WTO said growth in tourism in Ukraine, which needs to increase the number of professionals in the field, not only for tourists with quality service, but also to develop innovative tourism products and solutions that help to balance growth and sustainable development of tourism.

UN WTO proud that KUTEL a member of this organization and is making a significant contribution to the training of future specialists, provides graduates the skills and knowledge necessary for the development of the tourism sector in Ukraine.

At the end of the speech UN WTO Secretary General, Honorary Professor KUTEL Mr. Taleb Rifai wished the students every success in their future career in the exciting territory of Tourism, expressed his confidence for further fruitful cooperation between the UN WTO and KUTEL.
