Department of Physical Education and Sport Tourism was established in 1996.

Management Department

The head of the department assistant professor, professor KUTEL Dekhtyar Vladimir. His deputy Sudareva Natalia.

In structure of the department are: Associate Professor KUTEL Dekhtyar V.D., Senior Lecturer Kertutskyy V.J. and Sudaryeva N.S., lecturers Antipov V.S., Bykhal A.M., Rokhovskyy A.A. The department operates Research Laboratory "Sport Tourism", headed by Ph.D., Senior Lecturer Palienko S.V.. Employees of the Department Sudaryeva N.S. is competitor and is working on her thesis.

Subjects taught at the Department

The Department offers courses in physical education, sports tourism, sports and health tourism.

The teachers of the department offers courses in sports clubs and 15 sports: athletics, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, chess, football, hiking, water, mountain and cycling hiking, orienteering, shaping, aerobics, archery. 

Arrangements by Department

In addition studying with students, teachers of the faculty are paying great attention to employees of the University. Conducted studies in four groups of health: basketball, badminton, shaping, "Flamenco-Tribal".

At the department of physical education and sports tourism there is the library of sports and health tourism, which has a collection of reports on tourist trips from 1958 to 2009 and consists of 2500 copies. In addition to the special literature on physical education, sport and tourism here are represented by textbooks, manuals, guidelines for organizing and conducting tourism and regional studies work with students, to organize and conduct sports tours and tourist events. On this issue there are only 78 copies.

The university trains junior trainers for sports tourism and judges. Also organized a seminar-workshop entitled "Sport tourism: methods of teaching", after which issued the corresponding certificate. Every year lead refresher courses on sports tourism.

Since the beginning of 2007-2008 academic year at the department created a training of scientific and industrial laboratory "Sport Tourism", but in the beginning of 2008-2009 academic year, the laboratory was renamed in the research. Its work will optimize the process of preparation of students' scientific works and constantly deepen their own research faculty with the priorities of world and domestic theories and practices of sports tourism.

In the research laboratory was created student scientific study group. Teaching Staff and students of the scientific study group are conducting research on the topic: "Physical education, sports tourism and health culture in contemporary society."

The department has close relation with the various tourism organizations and educational institutions of Russia, Poland, Byelorussia. Together with the city's federation of sports and health tourism (president of the Federation Gritsik M.) organizes and conducts hiking trips and competitions.

Department of Physical Education and Sport Tourism conducts a sports university in 12 sports, the traditional day students and health workers, Ukrainian winter competitions in indoor sports tourism to technology. During the year there are categorical and categorical hikes in Kiev, Transcarpathian, Ivano - Frankovsk regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Every year students of the first course carried on climbing, the Carpathians, on World Tourism Day and the Day of tourism in Ukraine.

Every year held scientific conferences, round tables, contests. Teachers participate in international scientific conferences. By the force of teachers prepared more than 60 scientific and educational manuals.

Outstanding individuals - members of the department

Dekhtyar Vladimir – head of the department of physical education and sports tourism, associate professor, professor KUTEL, master of sports of athletics, not a one-time champion of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports, an honorary employee of tourism, the chairman of the methodological union Teachers of Physical Education I-II level of accreditation of Ukraine and Kyiv, the Vice President, Federation of Sport and Health Tourism in Kiev, Moscow, Academician of the International Academy Youth Tourism and Local History, the author of 55 scientific publications and teaching and methodical character; excellent student of education in Ukraine. Under his leadership, produced 8 masters of sports and 12 candidates for master of sports.
